The Golden Comforter

John 14:16-17
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

Rivers are where we find life and sustenance to thrive in the Kingdom and in this present world. The comforter represents the Holy Spirit. The golden comforter represents the glory of His Presence. This comforter is like what you would use for your bed. There is an close intimacy with the Holy Spirit that the Lord desires to restore. Everything that God has and gives is released through the Holy Spirit. He promised to give us the Holy Spirit and that He would be in us. It is our part to welcome Him to saturate our lives completely. As we do this He will being His restoration work with us, pouring out His gifts into us. The Lord comes as a friend, giving His golden comforter to those who welcome the Holy Spirit, putting Him first.

Intimacy With the Holy Spirit

2 Corinthians 13:14
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.”

We cannot experience the depths of intimacy with God without the Holy Spirit. All the gifts of the Spirit are only released through the Holy Spirit. The Body of Christ will have the gifts of the Holy Spirit in operation as we learn to walk with Him. There is purity of heart that the Lord wants developed in our lives. As we begin to discern the true motives of our own hearts our lives the pure gold of a pure life will become evident in us and through us. The Lord treasures a pure heart. The Holy Spirit is essential developing this purity and to our growth as believers. We need the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Friends of God

James 2:23
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

God desires friends. Moses expressed the desire that all God’s people would be prophets and that God would put His Spirit upon them. Prophets are His friends. You cannot be a true friend of God without hearing and acting upon what He has spoken to you. In our friendship with God the Holy Spirit will be our direct connect with the heart of God.
