Restoring the Attractive Beauty to God's House

I. The Restorer at Work
From beginning to end God’s nature is one of restoration. God is the ultimate Restorer. He is always working to restore things that have been worn, bringing them into new condition.? I was recently shown in a vision the restoration that God is working in the hearts and lives of people.? His house is comprised of many parts just as a literal house has many elements to it.
As I walked into this house I saw that parts of the house were being completely replaced or refinished into a marvelous state of beauty. As well, I could hear the sound of running water that made me aware of someone who was currently at work in the house, this being a picture of God’s Spirit at work. God wants His Church to represent the glory of His house, our communities to be a reflection of His life.
Just as David desired to be in the house of the Lord, knowing there is no better place to be, so the community of God’s people who dwell in God’s Presence should create the same draw and attraction. We are to mirror that which is in heaven.
Psalms 27:4
One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.

II. There is No Place Like Home
Not every house is a home.? God is working on His global house, the Body of Christ, as well as communities of people to make His house, which is comprised of people as living stones, a home.
1 Peter 2:5
“You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
God does not want His house to be a cold, sterile, impersonal – fostering an unfriendly environment.? Rather, He wants it to be a place of warmth, trust, life, encouragement
and love.
III. The Comfort of a Fireplace
God is in the process of refurnishing the house to make it a place of comfort, rest and peace.? There will be no steel chairs in God’s house. Those kinds of chairs are used for executions.? God wants a fireplace in his house where the fire of His Spirit brings warmth and love to the hearts of people.
Acts 2:46-47
“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”
A fireplace is also representative of a place of gathering, community, life, fun and interactions.? This a place where people can be real, transparent and trusting with each other. This atmosphere helps to create an openness of heart, enabling people to connect on a more meaningful level.
IV. A Place of Invitation
God wants a place where He is invited.? It begins with us personally, then has exponential effect when we gather together.? As we learn to grow as dwelling place for God’s Spirit individually, our gatherings will be much more powerful with His Presence being much stronger. The synergy that we have together enables us to grow much faster and have a powerful impact on our circles of influence where we live.
Be purposeful in inviting the Presence of the Holy Spirit in your life. Find others with that same heart and desire. When we come together to experience His life it becomes a contagious blessing that overflows to many.

2 Corinthians 13:14
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.”
