God is looking for those who would be a pioneer for His Presence.

What Makes a Pioneer?

When we think of pioneers, we think of those who just cannot conform to the normal pattern of things that have become the norm in a culture or society. They can tolerate it no longer.Things must change. These have a vision of something better. They have become stirred in their hearts in such a way that they are willing to pay the price to do something that is off the beaten path. While others are content to do things in the usual way, pioneers cannot succomb to the current order of things.

Pioneers face many challenges:

• They are not supported by the popular vote for they are not around to entertain the popular trend.
• They face the most opposition, because they are going against the grain of common thought.
• Pioneers unsettle people, challenging what has become accepted as right because it is popular.
• They are the ones who clear the path, work the ground and open up the way for future generations.

Definitions of Pioneer:

• “One who ventures into unknown or unclaimed territory to settle.”
• “A person or group that originates or helps open up a new line of thought or activity or a new method or technical development.”
• “One of the first to settle in a territory.”

It is in the heart of God for us to have something within us that is willing to go out to take unclaimed territory. The pioneer is willing to get out of the boat when calls, just as Peter did in response to Jesus. When the standards of our culture have been dumbed down so much the mediocrity is celebrated, we have a serious issue.

This creates an opportunity for people to rise up and raise a higher standard. However, what that requires is the willingness to pioneer, pay a price and somewhat start from scratch.

Pioneers are not “a dime a dozen”. They are not as common because so many are content to play it safe, stay in the box and compromise to the mediocrity of the day. With this they tend to stick out like a sore thumb making a lot of other people sore in the process. God is looking for those who are willing to pioneer for His Presence.
