The Bridge of Intercession

Hebrews 7:25-16
“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens.”

Spirit Led Intercession

Jesus lives to continually make intercession for the saints. One of the key foundational roles of the believer is to actively engage in the area of intercession. The Holy Spirit inside of us connects with the heart of God. This leads us the right direction in prayer. As we don’t know how to pray as we should the Spirit helps us in prayer. He fills in the gaps where we don’t understand.

Romans 8:26-27
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

The Bridge of Intercession

Intercession serves as a bridge. Enabling wisdom and?revelation to flow from heaven to give us knowledge on praying for others. The role of the intercessor is to serve as that connection between heaven and earth. Our prayers create a bridge that carries the wisdom and power of God into situations. This brings heaven’s plans into our situations.

We all have a need for the spirit of wisdom and revelation to walk in God’s intentions. With a foundation of intimacy with God, devotion and consecration to His plans, we need to know the next steps. The what, how, when and where comes into play. What are the plans and the strategy to carry out His intentions? Our intercession bridges that gap giving us and others understanding in these areas – bringing spiritual breakthrough as well.

Ephesians 1:15-17
Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him...”

The Assignment of Intercession

Jesus intercedes for us. ?He is our heavenly representative. Even as such, He still needs earthly representatives involved in intercession. Our engagement enables His perfect prayers to become a reality. God gives intercessory assignments to individuals for the purpose of establishing His kingdom in the earth. In this we are honored to participate in the process of seeing His will done on earth as it is in heaven.

Has God given you an assignment in the area of intercession? Maybe He has shown you to stand in the gap for someone. He invites us to be a part to see something significant of His Kingdom come to pass. God is always calling. The question is “are we listening”? Tune into His frequency, hear His heart, His plans, be a helper and be a part of establishing heaven on earth. Intercession is a bridge and those who intercede create that bridge making it possible for God to cross over into this world bringing heavenly transformation.

  1. Good info as always! I actually wrote a devotional on prayer and this comes in alignment with what Abba has shown me. I enjoy your ministry, and I hope one day to visit whenever I am in the area.

  2. thank you for the wisdom you release here on this information on the bridge of intercession. One of the things i realize is that there are times no one would know but God the things an intercessor prays for, but their reward is greater then anybody knowing. thank you
