Dependency Upon God's Presence

There is no better place to be than to walk in the ways of God, to follow His voice being dependent upon His Presence. We need a hunger for God that seeks His face, knowing there is always more for us to experience, more to understand and things that He desires to reveal to us. God likes to keep us on our toes. But how great it is when we choose to stay on our toes reaching up toward heaven for better things.Then Jesus answered and said to them, ?
John 5:19
Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.”
When we know our need for God we discover the place of dependency. Jesus walked in complete dependency. He knew He could do nothing apart from the Father. His joy was to obey the Father, to do His will. Obedience is the forerunner to His blessing on our lives. Without obedience to God there is no blessing. We cannot walk in our own ways and expect God to bless us. As Abraham followed the voice of God he was given amazing promises where the fulfillment spanned over millennia still being fulfilled in us. A little obedience will spawn multiplied blessing.
Genesis 12:1-3
“Now the Lord had said to Abram:
?Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father’s house,
To a land that I will show you.
I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
In our obedience the greatest reward we have is the Father’s affirmation, “This is my son, in whom I am well pleased.” There are many opinions that are available, but only One that matters. Because of this it is essential that each of us have our own personal discover of the secret place of His Presence.
Intimacy with God is not an option. Our communion with the Holy Spirit will determine whether or not we will live out the promises that God intends to be realized in our lives. Our intimacy with the Lord will determine how clearly we hear His voice. If we are not able to discern the voice of the Lord, everything else we do will not amount to a hill of beans.
For us to walk independently of the Lord is to, even unknowingly, embrace humanism. (Genesis 11:4) Humanism basically says that man can do it without God’s help. It is the exaltation of self making man the ruler of his life, rather than God. So even though a person may not confess humanistic thinking they are living it out by leaving God out of their space.
Make time for God. Discover and discern His voice. Follow His commands. Live life to the fullest in the glory of His Presence.
