God is always up to doing new things. It is His nature to do something new. He is LIFE. Because of this all things are fresh and new that flow from the throne of God. He has the power to make all things new for you. 

Then He who sat on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.And He said to me, Write, for these words are true and faithful.

Revelation 21:5

In Christ we’re made new creations. God in His grace and mercy gave us a new birth by the Holy Spirit. That is why Jesus said that we must be born again – born of the Spirit or born of above. We have been made alive to God and dead to sin as we have become part of His family. 

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

All things have become new. How can that be? The only thing that really counts is a new creation. As we are reborn into the Kingdom of God we now have choice to live by the flesh and its appetites or by the Holy Spirit Who is enjoined with the new creation that we are in Christ. 

One of the beautiful things about God is that He does not try to fix the old but gives us a completely new life! He does not take something used and try to fix it much like all the self-help books attempt to accomplish. Instead of giving you some old rusty bucket fix He gives you a completely shiny new person on this inside – Christ in you the hope of glory!

Where the rubber meets the road in our lives is when we have the opportunity to choose between the old man and the new man. When someone does not say something nice to you do you retaliate or do you stop to access the grace of God that is inside of you through the Spirit When you are tempted to do something that you know is wrong whether it be gossip, fornication or any other works of the flesh – do you stop to live by the new creation Jesus has made you to be OR are you to busy to connect with what God has done in you?

I have been crucified with Christ;it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Galatians 2:20

What a great verse to memorize. You can’t tempt a dead man. When He died, you died. In addition, when He rose from the dead so did you! We cannot experience resurrection glory until we understand that when Christ died we died.  

What this requires of us is to slow down. Don’t get caught up in anxiousness. Take time to connect with God, receive His grace and of the Holy Spirit – finding your contentment in Him alone. We all have to come to the place where we become dependent on His strength to overcome. As you seek His face you begin to experience that new life that He has already placed inside you.

By our actions of alone time with God we demonstrate our dependency upon Him. All the other important things need to be last and He needs to be first.

God has already made all things new for us so we need to respond with the right choices. Sometimes it just comes down to our commitment to Him – putting Him first. Commitment is not a popular word these days but make sure it is popular with you.

But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit…

Romans 7:6
