When the Holy Spirit Comes Like A Dove

Mark 1:9-11?
It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.?And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove…”
I recently had an encounter where I saw the Holy Spirit flying in?the form of a dove covered in the glory of God.
During this experience of seeing the Spirit in this way I was moved deep in my heart to welcome the Holy Spirit to come down.? I?ve heard it said that the ?dove? of the Holy Spirit is always looking for a place to land and to rest.? This experience made the phrase even more real and significant.
When I saw the dove of the Holy Spirit I also saw a natural dove flying next to it. ?This brings to mind is that there are “no good imitations” to the Holy Spirit. ?As I was looking at them both simultaneously, it was very clear and obvious which one was the Holy Spirit. ?The glory upon this dove was notable and without question. The wingspan of the Holy Spirit was also much greater. This speaks of the ability of God given?to us through His grace – that is far above what can be accomplished through the natural mind and strength of man.
As most of us know, the Holy Spirit dwells within us.? We all need to be “filled with the Spirit“. This indwelling of the Spirit is essential to our life of intimacy with God.? Without the Holy Spirit it is impossible for us to know a meaningful intimate relationship with the Lord. ?There is an anointing within us.
1 John 2:27?
“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.”
As well, we see how Jesus was anointed for ministry at the Baptism of John.? The Holy Spirit came in the form of a dove and rested upon Him.? At this point Jesus was brought into a whole new level of ministry.? There is an anointing for the inner life.? In addition, there is an anointing for a task God calls someone to.
God has new calls and ministry assignments being released.? Welcome the dove of the Holy Spirit as you seek the Lord. ?Seek God first! ?He has lots of work that needs done, but let Him give you the assignment. ?The dove will be the confirmation and empowerment you need to get the job done.

Come Holy Spirit!

John ?
